The article also appeared in the Tahoe Magazine winter issue. Pick up copies in Tahoe to share with others. We were also featured in The High Route.
Trail Stewards are our advocates on the trail. The functions we would like you to perform are:
- Prominently carry your radio and demonstrate good usage
- Ask people on the trail if they have heard of Backcountry Community Radio
- Monitor the trail signs and radio usage
- Use the trail check-in page tbradio.org/checkin to report missing or damaged signs, radio usage by others and how we can improve the program
Please attend one of our training sessions for a chance to win a Rocky Talkie Expedition dual channel radio. You can attend any of the meetings

The radio program aims to provide a life-saving connection in such events with designated radio channels assigned to different popular backcountry zones.Although a new idea to the area, TBSP says it's a good one and is working to promote radios as an essential, not optional, piece of equipment in the backcountry.
Radios and community channels put you in touch with people in the immediate area and the more people tune in, the more helpful they become.
