Installing signs, start to finish
Everything an installer does, in order, from signing in to the last install sent. Do the first part at home, where you have signal.
At home, before your first trip
- On your phone, open tbradio.org/sign-in, type your email and tap Email me a link. There is no password.
- Open the email on the same phone, tap the link, then tap Sign in on the page it opens. Using the site from your Home Screen? Tap Have a code? Enter it here and type the six-digit code from the email instead. Your phone stays signed in until June 1.
- New here? Once you're signed in, tap Go to your pages. Under What would you like to do? tick Install signs, say why and give your name, then tap Send to the Patrol. The Patrol emails you when you're approved. Already approved? Go on to the next step.
- Open the install page, tbradio.org/install, and add it to your Home Screen. Open it once from there with signal. After that it saves installs with none.
Take a sign ticket
- Open the sign tickets, tbradio.org/sign-tickets/tbr, or the link in your approval email. Near me puts the closest open tickets first.
- Open a ticket and tap Take this ticket. It's yours now, so nobody else drives to the same trailheads.
- Can't reach some of its signs? Under Split this ticket, tick the signs you won't do and tap Split. They go on a new open ticket someone else can take. Can't do it at all? Tap Give this ticket back.
Pick up the signs
- On your ticket, under Pick up the signs, choose a depot that has every sign the ticket needs and tap Pick up at that depot. The signs come off its count.
- The shelf has signs the count says it doesn't? Tap The shelf has them and enter what you see. The count is corrected and the admins are told.
At each trailhead
- Put the sign up.
- Open the install page from your Home Screen.
- Sign location: pick it, or tap Nearest. Sign: pick the sign you put up. Its colour is filled in for you; change the support if it differs. A different colour went up? Say so in Comments.
- Photo: take one of the sign in place. Comments are optional.
- Tap Save install. That sign's work on your ticket is done, and the ticket is done with its last sign. With no signal, the install is saved on your phone and sent later.
Back in signal
- Open the install page once. It sends what is saved and says so. You're done when it no longer says an install is saved on this phone and not sent yet.
- Don't sign out until then. Installs saved on the phone are sent only while you're signed in.
If something's off
- No email arrives
- Look in your spam folder first. Still nothing? Ask for a new link.
- "Taking a sign ticket needs the Patrol's approval first."
- You're signed in, but not approved yet. Ask from your own page (step 3 at the top) and wait for the email.
- "Your sign-in does not include the install page."
- Take a sign ticket first. Taking one lets you record installs.
- "This location has no sign to install."
- Check you picked the right sign location. If you did, an admin has to add the sign first. Ask one.
- No ticket has your signs
- Ask an admin to put them on one before you go.
- The page asks you to sign in again
- Your saved installs stay on the phone. Sign in again with signal, then open the install page: it sends what is saved.
